Sami, who moved to the UK from Egypt to continue his career, lives with his wife and baby daughter near to where he works at the University Hospital of North Tees. He said:
“I have really enjoyed the last year working here. It’s always difficult for someone from a different culture coming here and getting used to a completely different way of life.
“I live in Eaglescliffe, near Yarm, and my family love it there. There are plenty of great restaurants we go to regularly in the area. My wife and I are members of a great local gym so I spend some of my free time there and I also like to play tennis and be out in the countryside.
“I have lived and worked down south before and it was really noticeable how much more friendly people are up here. Around the trust, staff have been very friendly and helpful to me and have always been there to support me. I definitely want to come back here to work in the future.”
