Amar began his career by gaining a MBBS and BSc in Biomaterials Science from King’s College London. As well as being a doctor Amar also undertook a sabbatical during his training and has realised his dream of becoming a signed musical artist at Rise International Music. He has released five singles since October 2016.
I was offered the job in the region after the national clinical radiology application. I had not been to Newcastle before and came to visit and meet the training programme director in April 2014. I was extremely impressed by the city and the training offered. I was convinced that this was the right place for me and I am really glad I took this decision.
I have really enjoyed working within the departments throughout the region, extending from Carlisle to Middlesbrough. There are many outstanding trainers who provide excellent practical and theoretical training, which makes the job extremely rewarding and satisfying.
I was very fortunate to be allowed to undertake a sabbatical between my first and second years of training. This allowed me to pursue my dream of becoming an international musician.
