II love living here. I am originally from Middlesbrough and I can’t imagine living anywhere else. There are some absolutely beautiful areas that are only a stones-throw away. The North East is much cheaper than other areas of the UK too, which is always helpful.
South Tees is affiliated with Newcastle University so they are used to dealing with medical students and trainees and there is always somebody on hand to look after you. The consultants and registrars have been a fantastic at helping me with my portfolio.
There are so many nice places to visit in the North East– the Yorkshire moors, Whitby and Durham are all only a short drive away. I am able to have quality time with my family too, which is really important to me.
II would 100% recommend the North East for training to all of my colleagues. I have loved every placement I’ve had here. The training is brilliant, the people are friendly and area is great to live in.
