TEACHING FELLOWSHIPS

in the North East and North Cumbria

A teaching fellow post gives you the opportunity to combine clinical practice with teaching, which develops your experience and builds your portfolio. Teaching fellow posts are one year fixed-term posts, often with the option of extension and have the added benefit of providing you with a fully funded postgraduate qualification in medical education. The posts are support by the medical education team in the trust and guarantee protected time for your teaching commitments.

The type of teaching fellow and ratio of clinical practice to teaching depends on the employing trust – some have specific posts and some offer flexibility around what career area the doctor is interested in. All teaching fellow posts are advertised on NHS Jobs website between November and March before they officially start in the following August.

Any doctor interested in applying for a teaching fellow is encouraged to set up an email/text alert on NHS Jobs to make sure they don’t miss the opportunity.
